“ From the moment we stepped into this restaurant, it was evident that we were in for something extraordinary. The service was impeccable, surpassing even the finest Michelin starred establishments I’ve visited. The staff’s attention to detail was unparalleled; they ensured every aspect of our dining experience was flawless. The ambiance exuded character and charm, making it the perfect setting for a special evening. We opted for the experience menu, which was a delightful surprise. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing exceptional quality and unique flavors not found on the main menu. I’m already planning my return to explore their main offerings, which looked equally enticing. What truly set this restaurant apart was the personalized service. When I mentioned my preference for hot water with lemon, the staff ensured my cup was never empty throughout the night. They were attentive without being intrusive, allowing us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. However, when we needed to expedite our dining due to a hockey game, they seamlessly adjusted the service, bringing out all dishes promptly without compromising on quality. The meticulousness extended to every detail even changing our cutlery after each course. Such dedication to excellence is rare and commendable. This place isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an exceptional dining adventure. Atmosphere: 1000/10 Food: 10000/10 Service: 100000/10 ”
Mariyam Ferreira“ It is a very cute place to have a meal. The decor is unique and cozy. The service was great, and the staff were very informative and kind. It's a good place for English speakers, the staff speak English and the menu also has English on it. The food was very interesting and definitely enough to fill you up. I'm a little bothered that I couldn't do the 4 course tasting and my husband gets a regular meal, they said we either both did the tasting or do the meal. It made me feel like the place was rigged for rich people. I still enjoyed my visit and my meal. A cute date night. ”
Leah Foley“ I don’t even know where to begin—this is truly one of the most incredible dining experiences I’ve had. If you appreciate food as an art form, this place is a must. I’ve had dinner here twice, both times as a walk-in. The first time, Benjamin kindly seated me by the window, and the second time, Vincent placed me closer to the bar. Benjamin was exceptional in introducing the menu. He described everything so vividly, giving me a great visual of the dishes and even suggested some red wine options that paired beautifully with the food. I started with the oysters, which were unbelievably fresh. They were served with a rich red sauce that enhanced the flavor perfectly, and the small sprig of fresh dill on top was the perfect finishing touch. For my second dish, I had the duck pâté served with homemade bread, enriched with olive oil and freshly toasted—it was divine. Dessert was out of this world. A Canadian take on a rhubarb pie—it was light, flavorful, and left me satisfied without feeling overly full. Benjamin and Simon were both incredibly warm, informative, and attentive—not just as servers, but as wonderful hosts, especially to me as an American guest. On my second visit, Vincent welcomed me with the same warmth. I had a fish appetizer and lamb as my main course—both beautifully prepared with creative flavor combinations. The presentation was stunning. Dessert was a rich chocolate cake, served with—believe it or not—sorbet made from bell peppers. The vibrant orange color and unexpected flavor made for a truly memorable finish. I have deep admiration for both Chef Romain and Pastry Chef Cléophée. They are true artists, with an extraordinary vision for flavor, texture, and presentation. And most of all, I can’t say enough about Jade. She made my visit to both Canada and this restaurant unforgettable. Her passion for the food, her joy in presenting each dish, and her faith in every detail—all delivered with a warm smile—made me feel so welcomed. She is truly a gem and an invaluable part of this restaurant. So thank you Dominic for your carefully chosen employees. ”
Innachka D“ This is a really excellent restaurant in a very unassuming building with a friendly, quirky and cozy decor. The picture of the interior of the restaurant was taken before the room filled up for the evening - this was a Monday night but the place was full by the time we left! We had the four course experience menu and shared the wine pairings between two of us. This was completely blind - no indications of what we would be eating (but with an opportunity to indicate what we wanted to rule out which, in our case, was nothing). We had a very memorable and enjoyable meal with really interesting wines that paired beautifully with each dish. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes really outstanding meals created by a gifted team and served by cheerful, knowledgeable, highly competent servers. We will remember the meal, the people and the place as a standard of excellence for a very long time. ”
Michael Baxter“ There is no other place like this restaurant. From the moment we stepped in, there was charming service, beautiful ambiance, and an impeccable standard of service. The first thing we noticed was how calm and unhurried the staff was. We were invited to take our time and order as we pleased. Allergies were taken into consideration. Libations were served promptly. Every dish was offered to us with an exquisite description of the ingredients and flavors. This was the place I wanted to be enveloped in for my birthday. It is the perfect place for a highly sensitive foodie. They were extremely kind to gift me with a birthday jar of delicious apple jam which we promptly enjoyed the next day with cheese from fromagerie. It was such a lovely and enchanting experience, and we will happily return every time we are in Quebec City. Merci! ”
Fereshta Ramsey“ Cozy restaurant with super friendly and attentive service. Their homemade bread with buckwheat butter was amazing. It grew on you! The chefs put in a lot of thoughts in their dishes. We will definitely be back if we visit Quebec City in the future. ”
Jen R“ We have eaten at Chez Rioux twice and they do not disappoint. Recently we drove eight hours from our home, to Quebec City for the sole purpose of having dinner there. The first time that we went a few years ago left a lasting impression on us as the best meal that we have ever had. The second time was just as good. We had the chef’s menu both times and added the wine pairing for each course. I would recommend this experience. Don’t be afraid of being surprised by the dishes, put in front of you. regardless of your personal preferences you will be impressed by anything the Chef creates. I highly recommend, and we are looking forward to our next eight hour trip for dinner there. ”
